School Messenger

School Messenger Text Opt in

Our school uses the School Messenger notification system to share information with our families. This has been especially important when sharing updates on COVID-19 and any impacts it might have on our school community. We will continue using School Messenger’s email function to notify families of any non-urgent developments.

However, we are aware that parents don’t necessarily check their email regularly, especially after hours. If a case of COVID-19 is identified in our school community, especially outside of regular school hours, we need to notify families of any close contacts rapidly to advise that they will not be able to attend school the next day. This also occurs when we become aware of test results during the school day, and must immediately isolate a cohort or class and arrange for them to be picked up from school. These situations can happen on very short notice and we need to be able to reach all affected families quickly.

We are therefore encouraging parents to sign up for text notifications through School Messenger. This will help ensure parents see the message as soon as possible. Parents will receive an “opt in” message from School Messenger on October 30th. Please note that we will ONLY use this text message function for urgent COVID-19 information. We will NOT use it for regular updates and general information.
