About

From 1963-1973, our building housed the students of Paul Kane High School. In spring of 1973, in what was surely a sight to see, a massive parade of students, teachers, supplies and books made the journey from Sir Alexander Mackenzie Elementary to the old site of Paul Kane High School. The building was recommissioned as Lorne Akins Junior High School in honour of a well-known St. Albert pioneer.

In 2003, we celebrated our 30th anniversary, and in 2006 the school underwent a significant modernization and renovation.
